May 4th – First Pitch Night
Bring your best movie ideas—sign up from 6:30-7pm, then wind down with a glass of wine or rev up with a double espresso—whatever works for you to deliver your best pitch to a panel of judges from TheFilmSchool!
With seasoned filmmakers such as John Jacobsen (MogaJacobsen, TheFilmSchool) and Richard Hutton (Vulcan Productions) among other local screenwriters and filmmakers as judges, this is a great chance to practice your sell! Important Note: this evening is solely for the purpose of practice and improving on your pitches--pitches are not being considered for the judges' companies or for themselves. This is a fun and casual way to improve your game!
For anyone who is at any point in creating a story for film, this is a great night to see how story unfolds, what works, what doesn’t work, and to network with local filmmakers. For observers and participants alike!
Richard Hutton is Vice President, Media Development, Vulcan Productions, and oversees its feature film and documentary units, and also directs all of Vulcan Inc.'s media development projects, including initiatives in the education, museum and entertainment sectors.
