TheFilmSchool’s mission is to elevate the art of cinematic storytelling through intensive training in screenwriting and directing.

 

The school was conceived in 2004 following a conversation among Seattle film veterans—all of whom wanted to help improve the quality of scripts being written. Rather than waging an often losing campaign to lure Hollywood to Seattle for shoots, we thought a unique, visionary school could develop Seattle’s great wealth of young, creative filmmakers and ultimately help lower-budget films get made here.
